KIPP Chicago & KaBOOM!

When CarMax Associates partnered with KaBOOM! and KIPP Ascend Primary School to build a playground in Chicago last year, the impact was immediate. Recess is now a joyful time, filled with laughter and learning. More than 600 students utilize the playground throughout every school day. The playground has an enormous impact on the school community, and the surrounding neighborhood, every day.

CarMax Associates have continued to support the school since the playground installation. In May, CarMax Associates visited KIPP to play with students during recess and attend their Keep CLIMBing Friday celebration. CarMax Associates also volunteered at KIPP Ascend's field day that same month; this spring, they hope to volunteer at field day. Each time CarMax Associates volunteer there, the school receives a $500 volunteer team-builder grant.
