The Home Office Giving Program is designed to make the Greater Richmond, Virginia area a thriving community for families to live and work.

Associates in our hometown also support many of these organizations through volunteerism and monetary donations.

APPLICATION PROCESS FOR THE HOME OFFICE GIVING PROGRAM

Step 1

Review guidelines below to determine if your program meets all application requirements.

Step 2

Submit an online proposal between September 1 and October 15.

Step 3

Nonprofits will be notified of their status by the following spring.


SUPPORTED RICHMOND NONPROFITS SHOULD:

  • Support underserved youth and/or adults in the counties of Chesterfield, Goochland, Henrico, or the city of Richmond
  • Promote education & workforce success, health & wellness or resilient communities; and
  • Show a demonstrable need based upon the (a) demand for the program or (b) population served by the program

THE CARMAX FOUNDATION IS UNABLE TO SUPPORT:

  • Requests for the donation of vehicles
  • Business ventures or requests for loan or debt retirements
  • Organizations that limit membership, employment or services based on such attributes as race, color, gender, disability, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, gender identity, national origin, marital status, and/or citizenship.
  • Organizations that conflict with the CarMax Auto Superstores, Inc., mission, goals, programs, or products
  • Fraternal, athletic, or social clubs
  • Labor and political organizations or campaigns
  • Requests for capital campaigns, endowments, event sponsorships, or scholarships
  • Organizations categorized by the IRS as a church, convention, or association of churches
